Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Our Commitment to Privacy
This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use phpcompiler.net, including the analytics service the site uses.
Information We Collect
Code Execution
When you run PHP code using our compiler:
- Your code executes entirely in your browser, in a Web Worker running the PHP interpreter compiled to WebAssembly
- Your code is NOT sent to our servers or to any third party, and it is not stored or logged by us
- On first use, your browser downloads the PHP runtime files (php-wasm) from the jsDelivr CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net). Like any web request, this reveals your IP address and browser details to jsDelivr; your code is not included
- The PHP runtime may use your browser's IndexedDB storage for its virtual file system; this data stays on your device
Shareable Links
When you click Share:
- Your code is encoded (Base64) directly into the link's URL; it is not uploaded or stored on our servers
- Anyone who has the link can decode, view and run the code
- Because the code is part of the URL, it can appear in your browser history and in analytics page-view data
- Do not share links containing passwords, API keys or other sensitive information
Google Analytics
phpcompiler.net uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited, on every page. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and collects information including:
- Pages visited, page URLs and navigation patterns
- Browser type and version, operating system and device type
- Approximate location derived from your IP address
- Referring website and time spent on pages
This data is processed by Google and may be transferred to servers outside your country. We use it only in aggregate to understand how the site is used. For details see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by blocking cookies, or by using a content blocker.
Local Storage
We use browser local storage to save your theme preference (light/dark mode). This value stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
How We Use Information
Analytics information is used to:
- Understand which pages and features are used
- Improve content, user experience and site performance
- Detect technical issues
Information Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. Analytics data is collected and processed by Google as described above. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
Cookies
phpcompiler.net itself does not set cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the compiler keeps working without them.
Data Security
All connections to phpcompiler.net use HTTPS. Because your code is executed and kept only in your browser, we hold no copy of it that could be exposed.
Data Retention
We do not store your code or shared links. Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention setting of our Google Analytics property and Google's policies. Local storage data persists until you clear your browser data.
Your Rights
You can:
- Use phpcompiler.net without creating an account
- Clear your browser's local storage and cookies at any time
- Opt out of Google Analytics using the opt-out add-on or browser privacy tools
- Contact us with privacy questions; depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR) you may have rights to access or delete data about you
Children's Privacy
phpcompiler.net does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The service is designed for general audiences including students learning programming.
Third-Party Services
Besides Google Analytics and the jsDelivr CDN described above, our pages may link to external resources and documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.
Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of phpcompiler.net after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
